woodpeckers

our house.  They seem to be attracted to any vibration coming from within the 
 house--bathroom fans, ticking clocks, etc.  Apparently these sounds mimic the 
 sounds of insects in wood.  While we can turn off the fans quickly and stop 
 the clocks, we can't do much about the furnace fan or the water pump.  Does 
 anyone know of any sounds or vibrations that would repel woodpeckers?  Thank
