Birding-Aus Update

Hi everyone

Firstly, I want to thank so many of you for your kind words in messages to the mailing  list and to me personally over the last couple of days. It's all very humbling, and reflects what a wonderful community we have at BIrding-Aus. 

Yes, the mailing list is still here, but not for long. Every time someone sends a message we are getting bounces from more than 70 addresses. I'm working my way through these accounts and letting the owners know what is going on. 

I've made a few changes to the Birding-Aus website [http://birding-aus.org]:

Stripped back to the bare bones for now

Added a FORUM feature - please use this instead of the mailing list from now on. You can start a new post, edit your (future) posts (under the DISCUSSIONS tab) or comment on anyone else posts. This will give us threaded discussions, like Reddit or Discord. 

It will take a couple of days to finish setting this up. Some of you already have accounts on the website, so you should be able to post messages there now. For others, I will need to change permissions so you can post. There are about 900 current members of the mailing list, and about 2,000 on the website! Most of these are bots, trojans or scammers, so I am part way through filtering out those I think are not genuine accounts. 

If you have any problems accessing the website, setting up an account, or submitting a post or comment, please let me know and I will try to resolve it soon.
