Just got back from Lake Herdsman (Perth). Apart from the usual tally of
birds, we saw 4 Australian Hobbys as well as at least 6 Swamp Harriers
and a dozen Whistling Kites. At one point there seemed to be a raptor
perched on every post across from the Moondyne road area. There were
probably more since there were many going in and out of the reeds and
tall grass.
We haven't seen so many raptors in the area before.
