Hi Mike, and to anyone interested on Birding-Aus,

 

Here are my most recent sight records of Fork-tailed (Pacific) Swifts and White-throated Needletails:

  • 23/12/20  6:30pm: 1 x Fork-tailed Swift, flying directly NE low above suburban Urangan, Hervey Bay, SEQ;
  • 28/12/20  6:30am: 3 to 5 White-throated Needletails, hawking low to medium height above heathland, Kings Bore Rd West, Cooloola, SEQ;
  • 05/01/21  7:30am:  minimum of 5 White-throated Needletails, flying directly SSE above Bruce Hwy, 5kms south of Miriam Vale, SEQ;
  • 10/01/21  8:30am:  150+ Fork-tailed (Pacific) Swifts, hawking low to medium height above Park Ridge, Whitfield Range, Cairns, FNQ;
  • 31/01/21  8:00am:  50+ White-throated Needletails, hawking low to medium height above Clamshell Falls, Behana Gorge, near Cairns, FNQ;
