Odd Pied Monarch plumage

I have commented on the facebook page, but it is an immature bird moulting into its adult plumage: the brown flight and tail feathers are retained juvenile and some have already dropped to be replaced by the black adult feathers…

I’d assume it is some sort of retained or worn and maybe immature plumage, certainly very odd
