Hello all,

only now that we have well and truly buried 2020 I dare looking more closely at 2021, and what to do this year. The Houtman Abrolhos Islands, off Geraldton WA, have long been on my bucket list, actually since we are living in Perth, i.e. since 2005. This year the planets seem to line up, though.

I would be very grateful for a recommendation of a tour/boat charter operator.

We will be two couples in our early 60s and our main interest is nature, both above and below the water’s surface, i.e. birdwatching and snorkelling. We are much less interested in other things, e.g. visiting remnants of old buildings/settlements, and fishing. I have looked at a number of cruises but none of them specialises in the activities we want to spend most of our time on.

Time to visit the islands seems to be April–May. At least that is when some operators schedule their trips.

In your reply please copy me in as I receive not all birding-aus emails for reasons I don’t know.

Hope you all are well, and I wish you all the best for 2021!

Jonny
