Good news from Queensland. The Sunshine Coast Council has agreed to protect a 90-hectare wetland as a nature reserve. The West Coolum Wetland, home to several interesting and scarce bird species, had been zoned for sporting development. The decision follows the earlier environmental victory that was the acquisition and restoration of the nearby Yandina Creek Wetland.
