The following is a digest of Sightings Reported on Birdpedia for the period
Monday, November 11, 2019 to Sunday, November 17, 2019:

Area: SA

Date: Sunday, November 17, 2019

Location: On our bone-dry property at Rockleigh

Spotted Pardalote (Pardalotus punctatus) (1) A very uncommon bird at Rockleigh.
Last sighting was in June 2013. Its colouring was brilliant, as were the
striated pardalotes (often seen or heard)

Straw-necked Ibis (Threskiornis spinicollis) (2) Now what on earth were the
ibis finding to eat on our parched land ? Millipedes seem to be the only
creature living on the ground, hardly an ant to be seen. The ibis have only
appeared twice before, in big flocks. First time huge numbers of locust hoppers
had hatched and the ibis cleaned them up. Second time was a few days after the
2014 bushfire when everything was black and presumably there were lots of
barbecued invertebrates.
