G’day Thanks Stephen for sharing todays observation - much appreciated. Margaret Windeyer also saw 2 WTNT 4 days ago between Coonabarabran & Gunnedah. Some observers presume they overwinter and others believe some migrate much later than most birds. If they are pre-breeders it probably does not matter. It is presumed they are like Common Swifts & that they will not breed until they are 4-6 years old. In some years none are reported through winter in Australia, but in other years 5-10 observations may be made. Have fun looking for these interesting birds.
