Perhaps of a dubious relevance to Tony question but I have certainly seen Aust Raven try to adjust their grip on a golf ball in flight and lose the ball. Perhaps they were trying to swallow it? I have also found balls at least 2 kilometres from the nearest course and have suumed Ravens have carried them and then dropped them.
