Area: SA

Date: Sunday, July 22, 2018

Location: On our Rockleigh property

Brown Treecreeper (Climacteris picumnus) (1) Hooray ! Brown treecreepers, which
had been present on almost visit over 5 years, vanished 10 months after the
January 2014 bushfire, and had not been seen or heard for nearly 4 years.
Yesterday one was heard calling, and a plump little bird was spotted sitting on
a dead branch.

Diamond Firetail (Stagonopleura guttata) (30+) A large flock of diamond
firetails has been seen several times over the last month (50 on one occasion).
They congregate in short grass near the top of the hill, (where they are
invisible), then as you approach they take off, flashing their red rumps.
