The latest revision of the IOC taxonomy list has been posted on their site http://www.worldbirdnames.org/updates/ the new list is currently in draft form and becomes effective from 27 July 2018. As far as Australia is concerned the Western Whipbird has been split into White-bellied Whipbird (P. leucogaster - from SA) and Black-throated Whipbird (p. nigrogularis - from WA) The new list has also revised the taxonomical order for Cuckooshrikes and Grassbirds. I am not sure what the actual effect (if any) on Australian lists will be. I have been unable to download the draft spreadsheet (hopefully they will correct this within the near future).

Birding-Aus mailing list

To change settings or unsubscribe visit:
http://birding-aus.org/mailman/listinfo/birding-aus_birding-aus.org
|
