Yes Birds of the Middle East – Richard Porter & Simon Aspinall is good - but
the Collins Guide to Britain and Europe also covers this region of the Middle
East and is a better book for ID.

Birds of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan is excellent for local info. / maps
etc. It's by Ian Andrews. I have a copy from my time living in the region but I
think its out of print. It has a good where to watch birds section too.

Hi Paul
Possibly Birds of the Middle East – Richard Porter & Simon Aspinall? I have a
2nd edition from 2010, which seems to be the latest and also seems to be
available from online booksellers.
Covers much more than Jordan though.
Cheers
Tom Wilson

Sorry all: I mean a guide book, not an actual human!
