Many people on this forum have supported the long-running campaign to
protect the Yandina Creek Wetland on the Sunshine Coast.

This week brings the good news that four floodgates at the wetland have
been reopened. The northern half of the wetland is nicely replenished and
the birds have started to return. More floodgates will hopefully reopen in
the months ahead. Six years of effort to secure the protection of this site
have finally been rewarded. Many people have asked that I pull together an
account of the wetlands campaign. Here it is:

Thanks to those who backed these efforts, most importantly Judith Hoyle and
BirdLife Australia.
