Hi
I went there last year with 3 friends and we used a company called Great
Island Adventure Safaris.
It can be a difficult place logistically - bad roads, cancelled flights
etc. They organised our trip very well, rescheduling things at the last
minute as a flight was cancelled and finding a replacement bus when ours
failed. Our guide (Bakoly) accompanied us throughout - we stayed in very
good hotels except for one place where there was only a fairly basic one.
Food was also good throughout (Bakoly liked her chocolate mousses). Most
birding trips follow the same basic route - there is not much habitat
outside of the parks that are visited - and in each location we had local
guides who knew where the local specialities were. Expect road journeys to
take a LONG time - but the local life is quite interesting to watch as you
go by.
If you want any more details contact me directly
