For list members information. More than 20 years ago I purchased a 'Pelican' brand case from an Adelaide Shop...originally to store the camera gear but then to store and carry around the scope..see the link (SeaOptics Adelaide) for the current models of these great cases (check under Medium cases). http://www.seaoptics.com.au/products/medium-cases Sealed, dust and shock proof with a pressure purge valve when travelling on planes...I can strongly recommend them. And with the tripod, am aiming at the 'PVC pipe plus fittings' approach already mentioned....
