we had Koels coming through the Daintree River area as early as 3rd week of
August this season, but none have stayed. this date also marked the first
arrivals of Pied Imperial-Pigeons. the first Channel-billed Cuckoos started
coming through last week...

Yesterday the Season's first Koel called as if in error or warning – just a
part-phrase then silence. Most likely in passing, as they're often late
setting-up here.
