Dear List,
My wife and I recently took a trip to the Top End. We did Darwin to
Kakadu to Pine Creek and back to Darwin. We saw about 60 "lifers" and
around 85 in total. For those interested in the total list we saw (some
of my favourites are: Black Bittern, Red-tailed Black Cockatoo, Hooded
Parrot, Northern Rosella, Partridge Pigeon), I included the complete
list at the end of the email!
However, I have a more pressing concern. There is a single bird we're
having real trouble with. We saw a grassbird of some kind at Mamukala
wetlands:

I am not sure what it is (these grassbirds always give me trouble!).
After scouring the internet for dozens of pictures, I believe it is a
female Rufous Songlark. Can anyone help me with this? The picture isn't
the greatest quality but I believe it shows quite a few identification
features, and is the only one I got.
