Hello Falk, I've searched the literature including HANZAB and Harry Frith's Pigeon book and when calls are discussed it is always the "adult" that is referred to which in context always seems to be the male - no mention of females calling at all. I can understand the territorial calls only being given by males - in many birds this is not unusual, but I would expect that the soft contact calls to be given by both sexes, but again, no information.
