Hi Maris

With no money even a green-tinged Government might be slow to acquire, fence
and feral clear this latest NP site.

The ABC publicity was great, may help as a starter.

                              Cheers

                                 Michael

In WA we've just tossed out an actively anti-conservation government who had
a series of no hoper conservation ministers. There's hopes the new guys in
town will do better. We do have a good Dept of Parks & Wildlife who oversee
national parks & reserves but they have been severely restricted by
resourcing.

Dear All

Really great news about finding the Night Parrot in WA. This makes
almost a dozen known presumed breeding sites.

John Young must again be feted for his remarkable persistence in
"re-discovering" these birds

He deserves an OA , in the meantime BA should create and bestow an ONP ,
(Order of the Night Parrot.) on this guy as the first recipient for services
to Australian Ornithology.

What measures are underway to protect the now known populations of NPs from
cats and foxes.? Some of those sites are to be incorporated into
Conservation areas, a small number are being fenced, does the Qld Government
have any specific plans.

The WA Govt used to have an extremely active conservation policy some years
ago, does this still exist?

                                                            Cheers

                                                                  Michael
