There was a Sacred Kingfisher calling loudly from an Elm in the Fitzroy Gardens at about 7:15 this morning. I wasn't able to spot the bird itself, though. They turn up here once every few years, although they more normally hang around the pond near the JFK memorial in the Treasury Gardens across the road.
