Penny,

Not travelling, but living here is great! :)

Many of the roads are now open through central NSW as the floodwater have
receded. You'd need to check road status with local authorities depending on
the specifics of where you wish to go.

The Macquarie Marshes are nicely wet that the moment with ongoing flows likely
until end of January. A very good season throughout the central and
inner-western areas of the State.

The weather is warming but it's been a very mild Spring/summer so far.

Cheers Tim

Dear birding-aussers

My London son is visiting, a keen birder, and wants to get a look at some of
the birds the other side of the Divide, west of Dubbo, ie: out around Lake
Cargelligo, Bourke, Walgett and Nombinnie Nat.Park, etc.

Has anyone recent experience of travelling in these areas - state of roads,
heat, flies, vegetation, wetlands?

Any information would be most gratefully received.

Thanks

Penny, Gloucester
