It's well known in SA that these geese come and go seasonally around Lake
Alexandrina, sometimes hundreds at once, sometimes nil are present on the
farmlands around the northern side of the lake. The ones on Kangaroo Island
at the west end seem to always be there.

Thanks to all who replied via the group and privately - confirms my view
that they are at the least locally nomadic and/or migratory and the guy who
asked me has probably nothing to worry about unless his number stay low!
