Anyone have an idea what this call might be?

http://www.xeno-canto.org/forum/topic/16781

It was recorded by a remote microphones by a large dam near Tibooburra
NSW at around midnight a couple of weeks ago. Based on the way the sound
moves from the left to right channel it seems to be from a bird flying
overhead. The wetland (dam) had two tree-lined creeks feeding into it
and a few small shrubs and saplings around, but no reeds. A few ducks
and other waterbirds seen and heard at this same location including
Great Black Cormorant, Australian Pelican, Pink-eared Duck, Eurasian
Coot and Black-winged Stilt but it doesn't sound like any of the usual
calls of these species.

Another possibility may be a flying-fox - but not sure if any species
found near Tibooburra which could make this call.
