Hi Bill,

Keep an eye out for the Vanuatu Petrel. I would be keen to know if you see
any. The dead specimen that I found on the Pacific Highway near Port
Macquarie some years back is still the only Australian record of this
species.

Regards

Greg

Bill

There are three books that I know of that can help a trip to Vanuatu. Nay 4
if you want to go back to Mayr 1945: Birds of the South-West Pacific.

Bregulla, 1992. Birds of Vanuatu. 294pp.
Doughty, Day & Plant,1999. Birds of the Solomons, Vanuatu & New Caledonia.
206pp
Dutson, 2011. Birds of Melanesia. 446 pp.

There are also Island Checklists with notes on abundance at:

Have fun
