Hi Colin,
The last sighting that I know of was on Thursday evening.
Me & or others have looked every evening since then, without any luck.
I don't know if anyone has tried searching in the early mornings since
Thurs.
Re exact location/access.
See eBird Hotspot map for Flat Rock here:-
http://ebird.org/ebird/australia/hotspot/L2312838#obs-det-25
If travelling down Pacific Hwy from the north, take Lennox Head exit off the
Hwy onto Ross Lane, turn right at end of Ross Lane, follow The Coast Road
south for about 7.8km, look out for signs for Flat Rock Tent Park (Flat Rock
Rd) on your left, go to the car-park at the very end of Flat Rock Rd. Walk
the track to the beach, you'll see Flat Rock on your right.
If using GPS Navigator, Flat Rock Rd might be under Skennars Head or East
Ballina, not sure?
I think the Phalarope favours the northern part of the rock, but has been
seen all over, the rock is not very big.
Cheers,
Steve McBride

Hi Col - I've been there today between 3 and 7 - no cigar on the phalarope
I'm afraid - word is it turns up very late in the day or very early morn -
lots of other birds but I dipped on the phalarope - it had been seen in
recent days though
Cheers
