Today on Bruny Island/Tassie, about 8am, I was walking along the beach at 'The
neck' campground and looked ahead to see a large group of black birds...
As I got closer, I realised they were a large group of Pied Oystercatcher and
Sooty Oystercatcher together.
I counted AT LEAST 100
Any ideas as to why they are in such large numbers? Anyone else seen this?
I've only ever seen 2-4 at a time in a group in the past
