I also corresponded with John Gamblin a lot (mostly several years ago). Either through B-A or individually. He wrote to me always amusingly and sometimes I think as though he thought I was a long lost buddy, although I never met him. He even sent me a Hastings hat by post. I don't recall why. He must have liked something about my connection. After a while some years ago I wrote to him less, mainly as I often had no idea what he was writing about, although he was always cheerful and interested. In the intervening years he is one that I would wonder about "I wonder what happened to....." The couple of photos sent in are just about what I could have imagined he looked like.
