I noted with sadness (via a mention by Mark Carter) that Glenn Holmes has
passed away. I knew that he had been ill for some time.
Glenn was a great birder, and he often expertly assisted me as a guide in
those distant days when I operated bird tours. Since then he has freely
given his time to guide our local 'Bellingen Birders' group when we made
trips into his area around Stanthorpe. He was a most knowledgeable and
observant man. I remember asking him how many birds he had recorded in 24
hours from his base in Atherton. His answer was '254', a record that I
imagine would be very hard to equal! My deepest sympathy to Jenny.
