Christmas Swifts

G’day

We had a bit of a wet forecast for Brisbane, so I guess it wasn’t surprising
that there were 30+ Needletails flying over Mt Gravatt (around 9 am - saw them
while driving from Logan Road to the Freeway).

We had a quiet morning at the Mt Coot-tha botanical gardens (Christmas keeps
people away from parks and gardens), so had nice views of a Brown Goshawk
calling. There is a new section in the gardens that showcases plants suitable
for domestic situations (worth a look). While making our way slowly back to
the car, we noticed a handful of Needletails circling over the gardens (around
noon).

Anyhow, I trust you have all joined the swifts in having a merry christmas.

Regards, Laurie.
