Hi,
With all the information of late about the Powerful Owl I thought I could send
you aou encounter with the magnificant bird.
We live at Werombi, NSW (next to the Warragamba Catchment area) and have a dam
that is the home of a number of the Swamp Hens who are with 4 chicks at the
moment.
Last week we saw a Powerful Owl sitting on a log near the dam eying of these
little birds. There was an almighty uproar from all the birds on the dam when
it began to fly and circle over the reeds where the birds had nested.
It had a go at the birds but went away empty handed.
I then heard it late at night with its identifiable call. Can’t wait to see it
again and find out where it lives.
