G’day Marvis
I drove the Great Central Road from Laverton to Uluru 20 years ago in a 14 year
old Subaru. No great challenges on the 1000 km of unsealed road, but as others
have said, it depends on when the grader last went through. There was fuel
stops at 300 km intervals, so I took a gerry can for a contingency. Also
carried plenty of water. It was a great drive. If you have the opportunity,
it is worth doing the Mereenie Loop from Kings Canyon round to Palm Valley and
then on to Glen Helen …
Regards, Laurie.
