Regarding use of Wifi, In Australia your best bet Is to buy a Telstra "dongle"
for your laptop. In essence it is a pre-paid USB mobile device to use in your
laptop. Anywhere Telstra has mobile service (almost every town) you'll get
internet. (not Paynes Find but yes at Mt Magnet). Some surprising other places
too via "fill in" towers, often put in courtesy of mining companies. I received
a phone call last year on the Tom-Price to Wittenoom road on the northern
border of Karijini NP.
Other mobile providers provide excellent service too, just don't leave the main
cities.

Had the 0550 flight today from Perth to SydneySo tired I forgot to mention
another thing:
Lodging in Mt Magnet/Cue is limitedI stayed at the Mount Magnet Caravan Park,
just east of the main road as you come into townI had a modular room for $75
(cheapest in town), that was quiet, comfortable, good A/C, excellent
shower.Plus, the ner is very affable and let me use his wifi, which is also
scarce up there
Cheers
