It is disturbing to see a press release issued by Queensland Government, wrongly acknowledging a "team of scientists" for the rediscovery of Night Parrot. The full credit for rediscovery of Night Parrot all goes to John Young and nobody else. It was because of Johns ornithological and bush skills, his incredible experience and relentless determination that the bird was found in Western Qld. While it is encouraging to see funding grants to support conservation of Night Parrot, John Young should be the central figure managing this conservation project.. see: http://statements.qld.gov.au/Statement/2015/11/24/state-government-commits-400000-to-protect-elusive-night-parrot

Birding-Aus mailing list

To change settings or unsubscribe visit:
http://birding-aus.org/mailman/listinfo/birding-aus_birding-aus.org
|
