Birders of the Cairns region,

Living on a sailing boat we recently took shelter in Mourilyon Harbour, just
south of Innsfail.
I heard and saw what I thought was a male Forest Kingfisher, with bright white
" headlights" either side of the forehead.
However it had the rufous flanks similar to the Nominate race macleayii found
only in NT, I thought.
(I took a photo of this bird)

Could someone familiar with the region offer some idea as to what I saw?

Curious birder,
Burney
