Despite the truly awful winter weather, we checked Macleod Station surroundings for Swift Parrots this morning between 9.35 and about 10.30 this morning. Perhaps numbers are down, but there seemed to be about 30 in a Yellow Gum outside the kindergarten, sometimes overflowing across the road to another tree on the Station side. Maximum temperature today was about 9 degrees C. Also present - Rainbow and Musk Lorikeets, feral Rock Doves, a solitary Crested Pigeon, Magpies, Little Ravens, Red Wattlebirds, and Noisy Miners. Human observers included Daphne Hards, Kath Johnson, Anthony and Denise Fernando - sorry I didn't catch the other names.
