I have been advised that plans to drain the 200-hectare Yandina Creek Wetlands on Queensland's Sunshine Coast will proceed in September. It appears that warnings from the Commonwealth Environment Minister, Greg Hunt, to landholders to comply with federal laws protecting endangered species and migratory shorebirds will be sidestepped.
