Subject: KAMCHATKA LEAF WARBLER at Werri Beach, Gerringong
I've just received an email forwarded on from a British birder who claims to
have seen a Kamchatka Leaf Warbler at Werri Beach, Gerringong on February
25. This is about 15km north of the White-rumped Sandpiper site (Illawarra
Coast, NSW).
The sparse details given were: "Had it calling and sounded spot on the
recording. The bird was in the scrub/small trees north of fish and chip
shop".
At this point, it is unclear if any recordings or pictures were taken.
Anyone down that way should check it out immediately, and hopefully confirm
if there is indeed a Phylloscopus warbler of any kind there!
Cheers,
Ashwin
