Greetings birders, Unfortunately I made (at least) a couple of errors in the
latestchecklist release. 1) Stephen Murray has pointed out that the IOC has
split thestorm-petrels into two families and this requires major changes to the
sequenceof the Procellariiformes.   2) Ashwin Rudder and Nikolas Haass have
recently discussed theRed-crowned Parakeet complex on Birding-Aus. There are
two extinct Australian speciesin this complex,  Cyanoramphussubflavescens Lord
Howe Parakeet Cyanoramphus erythrotisMacquarie Parakeet The upgrade for
v2014Jan contained this change, but itsomehow did not get added to the main
list for vJan2014 or subsequent. Therefore,long-term users may not be affected
by this error. These two errors do not affect species numbers in anysignificant
way, so I will not correct them until the next scheduled version(v2015Jul), if
that suits users. Apologies for any inconvenience.
Thanks, Stephen, Ashwin and Nikolas, your input is greatlyappreciated.

Cheers,
David James
