gee, I hope so as my guide might be very valuable
I identified the error in Jan '11 when I was in Northern Rivers, NSW and
relatively new to birding
I thought that I had a very out of range Pied Butcherbird
I emailed Penguin Books who emailed Ken Simpson who sent me the correct map
Another error in my book is that the terns on p115 are name reversed
ie the sketch marked Lesser Crested Tern is a Crested tern and the sketch
marked Crested Tern is a Lesser Crested Tern

Isn't this the sort of thing that causes stamps to become incredibly
valuable?

Not all are incorrect. I have an 8th Edition printed in 2010 and it is
correct, exactly the same as the 7th edition.

Hi those who still use Simpson and Day. I've noticed that the
distribution
map for Pied Butcherbird, page 254 in the eighth edition is incorrectly a
repeat of the Black Butcherbird map just above it. The seventh edition
showing a much wider distribution is correct.
Tony.
