Seems you can use either (plus an additional one)
The three taxonomical lists that I use have three different names
IOC (International Ornithological Congress) 4.4 (2014) - Pacific Koel
Clements 6.9 (2014) - Australian Koel
Birdlife International 7 (2014) - Eastern Koel.
