Thanks Frances,
Yes, familiar with them from other places in the general vicinity, but had
not seen them in suburbia around here previously.

Satin Bower Birds are found in the Royal National Park and I have heard them
in the same street that you mentioned, while caring for my grandchildren.

After a full month on Christmas Island and the Cocos keeling Islands I'm
finally home in Byron Bay. I've compiled a combined list of all the vagrants
seen on both tours on both islands, which includes some of the regular

Just letting everyone know that a Red-necked Phalarope has been seen at Lake
Tutchewop. With that, the Long-billed Dowitcher and an Oriental Plover, some
might be interested in making the trip.

I don't have any details, it was mentioned on the Victorian Birders Facebook
group today. Does anyone have any more details?

Hi all,

While driving along Carvers Rd Oyster Bay (34O00'39" S, 151O04'37"E)today I
thought I caught a glimpse of a female Satin Bowerbird. Anyone familiar with
that area think this is possible?

Thanks

Paul.

Hi All
Lake Tutchewop near Kerang in Victoria has continued to produce some ?gems?
for us this summer.
The well documented Long-billed Dowithcher will always put this place on the
map but in the last two days, we can also add Oriental Plover and Red-necked
Phalarope to the list!
I was fortunate to photograph the Red-necked phalarope today at the lake
after one of my companions, Bob Hughes, located it in the scope this
afternoon. My report has been published on Birdline Victoria with precise
details and a photo.
As I cannot publish photos on this service, if anyone would like me to send
them photos, please email me at:
