Hi Elliot,
I saw the female on the corner of Florence and Abbott street on the 23rd
November. It was in the large fig on the western corner.
Apparently it also roosts in the fig tree opp McDonalds. I checked the
bigger figs in town on the morning of the 3rd Dec, but could not locate it.
The four o'clock club which meets on the esplanade with scopes etc, may have
more info for you.

Hey everyone,
I'm heading up to Cairns tomorrow to do some scientific work on Mt Lewis -
just wondering if anyone has seen the Rufous Owls that were being reported a
couple of months ago along the Esplanade recently.
I'll be back in Cairns on Saturday morning and will probably have a look for
waders on the Esplanade then as well. If anyone wants to meet up for that
then feel free to send me an email :)
