For probably the first time in 30 years, today I saw a single Freckled Duck at Banyule Swamp. Feeding with Black Ducks at north end, often with head submerged. Silhouette unmistakable when head up. Swam across to fallen branches by dead tree, climbed up and preened. Shared perch with a Coot and a Long-necked Turtle, with a Straw-necked Ibis above on higher log. Reported on Birdline Vic. with photo (extreme range and light poor).
