1.10pm -- 10 swifts speeding low & westward past the back door.

1.25pm -- 20 swifts swirling at mid-height & drifting westerly. At the same
time the local terrestrial birds became more active.

The barometer only dropped a point, though. Today begins a four-day
heatwave here.
