hey Patrick,
good to see u on here!!

try Two Peoples Bay towards Albany from Cheyne's Beach if u miss any of the 3
skulkers &/or the Rock Parrot - I've had all 4 species there rather easily...
on the first morning that i'd ever visited there, all 3 skulkers were heard at
dawn from the carpark, whilst numerous Rock Parrots were among the first of any
bird to greet us while we were listening to the dawn chorus!! Red-winged
Fairy-Wrens, Red-eared Firetails, Carnaby's & Baudin's Black-Cockatoos,
Red-capped Parrots, Western Field-Wrens, amongst others were all seen there
within 1 km of the carpark - so it's a great spot & well worth visiting after
Cheyne's Beach, which is no doubt just as great too!!

cheers,
martin cachard,
cairns

> Hello Fellow birders,
> I'm planning a trip to Cheynes Beach next February to have a go at finding
> the three skulkers. My basic ideas at this stage are to arrive at Perth
> airport around midday on Sunday the 15th of Feb and then drive to Northam
> for the Mute Swan and then to Dryandra for one or two nights mainly to
> target the Western Shrike-tit. And then onto Cheynes Beach for a few
> nights to hopefully get a chance at leisure for the three skulkers. I need
> to be at Perth Airport by Tuesday the 24th of February. I'm also hoping to
> get lucky with the Rock Parrot too.
>
> I have read Tim Dolby's excellent trip report and believe that the Rock
> Parrots may be more difficult to find these days. If anyone has some up to
> date information about Rock Parrots I'd love to hear from them. I'd also
> be very happy to have some company to share the adventure and costs too.
> All the best,
> Patrick
