I have no idea. Might be worth asking Kanyana....but a 32 year old band is
not impossible! Unlikely, I agree. Did the ABBBS consider SE Asia?
Cheers

Subject: Banded Cattle Egret at High Wycombe WA
I have received a report from Greg Muir of a Cattle Egret on his alpaca farm
that has an anodised red metal band CRT (or possibly GRT)
03 (sideways) 26
He has photographs on his Flickr site. Greg's email is
He has contacted the ABBBS, but they say these bands haven't been used since
at least 1992, but it seems unlikely that this bird was banded then, as the
band appears to be in quite good condition. They suggested that the bird
could possibly have been in care, and released with a band.
I am unaware of any banding studies on Cattle Egrets in the SW of WA. Can
anyone involved with this please contact Greg directly.
If you can think of anyone else who may be involved or who I could contact,
then contact me and I will follow it up, and I will ask them to contact
Greg.
