Hi All, We went on a trip in December 2012 to the Subantarctic islands which was fantastic for a close-up experience of pelagic birds and general wildlife. We've put up a five mins Youtube clip at http://bit.ly/1kroxpn to give a glimpse of what these trips are like. It shows breeding albatross and penguins as well as the landscape of these fascinating islands. Luckily we had an expert birder on board which was a huge help with the smaller petrels and prions we encountered on the open sea. Conditions did get rough in the furious fifties, but we managed alright with patches. They actually do work, thank goodness. The birding was magnificent.
