They are always around Lake Argyle and Lake Kununurra in the north Kimberley of WA. They seem to need large water bodies or rivers. I guess so they has the fish to catch. Definitely not as common inland as I have seen elsewhere in Africa, South America, etc. I am trying to remember whether I saw one at Lake Moondarra at Mt Isa?Do they occur along the Murray River, and even further up such as the Murrumbidgee or Darling Rivers? They don't seem to be common in Victoria which has always been a surprise to me. _________________________________________________________________ Frank O'Connor Birding WA http://birdingwa.iinet.net.auPhone : (08) 9386 5694 Email : _______________________________________________ Birding-Aus mailing list To change settings or unsubscribe visit: http://birding-aus.org/mailman/listinfo/birding-aus_birding-aus.org |
