Birdline Northern Territory

Published sightings for the week ending 26 Jan 2014.

Sat 25 Jan Red/Rufous Morph Pied Heron Fogg Dam wall
1 Individual observed and photographed wading and feeding on leeches as water overflows the road on the dam wall. Footage taken by Alan Marshall. [Ed note: Very interesting looking bird. The comment has been made that, aside from features such as bill, it looks surprisingly like a Reddish Egret from c. America / US. TD]
Mick Jerram

Thu 23 Jan Channel-billed Cuckoo Alice Springs
Bird heard calling in Latz Crescent, Larapinta during the morning
Pete Nunn

Tue 21 Jan Grey (Red) Phalarope Leanyer/Sanderson WTP
Lone individual Phalarope sighted and photographed! ID confirmation required although getting more sure of ID! Bird was very, 'weather bashed', quite ragged and seemed to have only 1 foot.
Mick Jerram, Gus Daly

Sun 19 Jan Channel-billed Cuckoo Alice Springs
A pair of birds seen (and heard) in flight above Brown Street.
Peter Nunn

Birdline Northern Territory is hosted by Eremaea Birds.
